4 Witchy Outfits Perfect for Fall
Witchy season is here friends, and that means channeling our inner Sabrina Spellman (the retro dark one of course). Before the first orange and red leaves coat the forest floor, and before pumpkin and cinnamon fill our houses we first need to get our fall witchy wardrobe in order. Check out some of our favorite fall witchy outfits staples you need to feel your most powerful this season.
1. Retro Sabrina Spellman Skirt and Sweater Combo
Two of the biggest fashion trends predicted for fall of 2023 are the color red and 70’s inspo. With this look we are playing on both of those but with a darker witchier twist. Whoever said witches can’t be on trend?
Here is what we are loving, the mini plaid high-waisted skirt in red/brown definitely screams retro 70s queen. Meanwhile, the red/burgundy turtleneck sweater is giving me all the cozy chic vibes for fall. Finish it off with some black stockings and Mary-Jane shoes for that sinful dark look. As a bonus, we are definitely into the red leather cross-body bag as well, a piece like that can be used in so many different outfits.
2. Peter-pan Collard Dresses
The Peter Pan collar has consistently shown up on witches in TV and film throughout the years, most notably on Sabrina Spellman, and Wednesday Adams. This large white oversized collar, which is often round, became associated with witches thanks to some of the most notable spellcasters of all time— the Salem Witches. This is because large oversized white pointed collars were a common accessory for Puritans.
The Peter Pan collar has found new life among those who love the witchy aesthetic today, and it is often worn under dresses. Sometimes it is a part of the dress like this short pinafore dress or this Wednesday Adams-inspired long-sleeve black dress. But you can also buy the collar separately, either as a dickie or as a long sleeve collared shirt. And it doesn’t have to be worn only under dresses, there are many ways to wear this collar. We love the look of a chunky sweater vest with a Peter Pan collar.
3. The Layered Witchy Mini-dress
You’ve seen it before and chances are you love it. The mini-dress with a long-sleeved shirt underneath paired with stockings is a fan favorite. It is sexy, dark, and somehow manages to give off both a mysterious and academic vibe. Did someone say dark academia? And if you ask me that is exactly what a witchy gal wants in a fall outfit. Our favorite variations of this fit include the buttoned-up corduroy mini-dress, the simple button-up black mini-dress, a black mini-dress with bell sleeves, and a super cute velvet mini-dress.
For the layered shirt underneath the dress, we are into this plain tight white shirt, this ribbed turtleneck sweater shirt, and this collared black shirt. And if you are into the high stocking look as much as we are, you may want to snag these stockings.
4. Casual Fall Witchy Outfit
If you are like me then chances are most days you are looking for a casual witchy outfit that you can wear to the coffee shop, or out with friends. That’s why I put this dark slightly grungy witchy look together. This lacy top with the butterfly design is perfect to layer under a big chunky cardigan this fall. Paired with a soft black maxi skirt, and combat boots makes the look casual yet still sexy and witchy. Finally, you need the right accessories to complete the look. Some crystal earrings that match the shirt, a black crystal necklace, and a black moth tote bag finish the look.
There are so many witchy outfits you can play around with in the fall, these are just some ideas for you to start with. We hope you have a wonderfully dark, vintage, witchy fall in your new clothes.
